Light of Christ Parish was established by Archbishop Joseph P. Hurley of the Diocese St. Augustine in early 1966. Father Timothy Allman was named Pastor of the new parish.

The first Mass was said in the Visual Aid Room of Clearwater High School on the first Sunday of February. On February 27, 1966 they moved to the high school auditorium

In 1968 the State of Florida was divided into four dioceses and we became part of the Diocese of St. Petersburg. May 1969 was the ground breaking for the Parish Hall and the Church. By Thanksgiving of 1970, the church and parish center were built. One year later the rectory was completed.

We have been blessed with many good priests

We pass on precious memories, awesome responsibilities, and a bright future
