Dear Parish Family,
The Parish family of Light of Christ is grateful to have been a continuing sign of Christ’s Love in Clearwater for over 50 years. As the pastor of this faith community, I am grateful to all who make and have made this parish a vibrant sign of the Holy Spirit moving in the world. I am also grateful for the dedication and efforts of those in our parish family who participate and contribute to the various ministries of Light of Christ. In a family situation, all members of the family have multiple opportunities to contribute to that family. Our parish is a family; it’s our faith family! As a member of this parish, I encourage you to share your gifts with your faith family. All parishioners are encouraged to reflect on the meaning of Our Parish Family throughout the year. Participation in this faith family will help all of us to grow in our understanding of God’s love. I hope to see you soon involved in a ministry of your choice.

Our History
-
Light of Christ Parish was established by Archbishop Joseph P. Hurley of the Diocese of St. Augustine in early 1966. Father Timothy Allman was named Pastor of the new parish.
The first Mass was said in the Visual Aid Room of Clearwater High School on the first Sunday of February. On February 27, 1966, they moved to the high school auditorium.
In 1968 the State of Florida was divided into four dioceses, and we became part of the Diocese of St. Petersburg. May 1969 was the groundbreaking for the Parish Hall and the Church. By Thanksgiving of 1970, the church and parish center were built. One year later the rectory was completed.
We have been blessed with many good priests.
We pass on precious memories, awesome responsibilities, and a bright future.
