Parish  Bulletin

October—Month of the Holy Rosary

The feast of the Holy Rosary was established by Saint Pius V on the anniversary of the naval victory won by the Christian fleet at Lepanto, October 7, 1571. The victory was attributed to the help of the holy Mother of God whose aid was invoked through praying the Rosary. The celebration of this day invites all to mediate upon the mysteries of Christ, following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary who was so singularly associated with the incarnation, passion and glorious resurrection of the Son of God.

340 families in our parish have made a gift or pledge to the 2008 Annual Pastoral Appeal. Our parish goal is to have 100% participation. Please prayerfully consider supporting the Annual Pastoral Appeal with a pledge or a one-time gift. Convenient ten-month payment plans are available. The ministries, activities and programs serve people throughout the Diocese and in our parish.

Pray For Peace

For peace in places of war and violence, and for the safety and safe return of the men and women who serve in the United States military.

GoodSearch

Pennies From Heaven?

Nope-pennies from You! Every time you use Goodsearch.com as your search engine, LOC Early Childhood Pre School receives a penny.  It doesn’t sound like much but if everyone used Goodsearch as their computer home page those pennies would add up very fast. With a few people’s help we have raised over $50 dollars in the first 2 months. Thank you! Just imagine how many pennies we will collect if everyone who uses a computer helps out.  Did you know that you can also GoodSHOP? Many top retailers such as Target, Home Depot, and Best Buy participate in this program and will donate a  percentage of the amount purchased to LOC ECC. To get started go to you internet page and click on the Tools Tab. Click on Internet Options. In the General Tab Home page address type in http://goodsearch.com and press apply and then the OK button. Click on the Home page button and the Goodsearch powered by Yahoo has become your new homepage.  Now just type Light of Christ Early under “Who do you Goodsearch for” verify and you are all set. A Big Thank You From all the Preschool children for your support!

ADOPT A CLASSROOM!

Light of Christ Early Childhood Center invites the Parish community, groups, businesses and individuals to Adopt-A-Classroom in support of the Early Childhood Center. By adopting a classroom, donors form partnerships with specific classrooms providing financial and moral support. The result is a meaningful contribution to early childhood education in which donors experience the impact of their efforts and celebrate in the schools success. The money donated to each adopted classroom will go directly to the classroom teacher for her to purchase equipment and materials for her classroom. Each age group has different needs and developmentally appropriate materials vary from age group to age group. Consequently, a large variety of age appropriate equipment is needed to insure that each child’s educational needs are being met. Each donor will receive a list of items purchased with their generous gift. To adopt one of our classrooms, for any  amount, please contact the Preschool office at 442-4797. Thanks in advance for your support.

A special treat is in store for us. Children from the Early Childhood Center will be sharing some of their talent with us by singing a few songs, For further info, please call our October hostess, Flo Palmieri at 734-1906
